Last year, Ian at Carbody Banbury looked in to reducing his operating costs with Solar PV and just before lockdown we installed a 50kWp system.

Due to their high daytime energy use, our software had the projected returns at just under 24% with a payback period of just under 5 years. They are well on course to achieve this despite a big drop in electricity demand during lockdowns.

With the extended warranty on the inverter, the investment is protected long past the projected payback and coupled with the Smart Export Guarantee, will provide cheap electricity for many years to come. Electricity generated costing the equivalent of 3p per kWh compared to 15p+ from the grid.
